Electric vehicles are the transportation of our future. The use of these vehicles will greatly reduce American dependence on oil from aggressive countries and the carbon emissions put out by gas powered vehicles. President Obama would like to see one million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. To this end President Obama signed Executive Order 13514, and together with the Transportation Electrification Initiative the United States is striving to reach this ambitious goal.

Is America's Power Grid Ready for Electric Vehicles? With the rave circling around hybrid cars and its capacity to lessen fuel costs, more and more people are falling in line to get one. Hybrid cars are powered by two or more energy sources: a petrol combustible engine and an on-board battery pack that draws power from rechargeable batteries.

Electric Cars - Lack of Infrastructure
As with any innovative technology there has to be a first group of people who buy it. And just like with any other technology, there has to be a driving force that encourages the development and participate in that new technology. The driving force behind the electric car seems to be increasing gas prices, combined with a concern for the environment.

Most of the public's worries on the growth of the EV industry are on the availability and accessibility of charging stations and EVSE (Electronic Vehicle Supply Equipments) in the market.
