EV Fueling and Infrastructure

 Written by J. D. Johnston

EV-ProjectToday and Tomorrow's EV Fuel Infrastructure - The electric car is technology’s newest weapon against climate change and air pollution, but is the electric car infrastructure ready to support this trend? However, the electric car infrastructure in the United States is still concentrated in certain regions, so you will need to do research before considering an electric car yourself.

BEV Recharging

 Written by G. McNullty

charging-bevConvincing the public that electric vehicles are the best choice for future transportation is not going to be an easy task, especially when details such as standardized plugs for recharging and adequate recharging locations have not yet been established. Today, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales account for less than 2% of the total cars on the road.

Go Green - Diesel Power

 Written by N Nau

green-diesel-fuel-capConsumers can expect to pay at least $40,000 for a new electric or clean diesel car. However cars that use clean diesel are extremely fuel efficient and better at trapping pollutants than gasoline. Electric and clean diesel cars both have advantages. Cars that use clean diesel are extremely fuel efficient and better at trapping pollutants than gasoline. The less fuel burned and the more pollutants trapped, the fewer toxins are released in the air.

Biodiesel Fuel -Low Carbon Alternative

biodiesel-alternative-fuelBiodiesel Fuel -Low Carbon Alternative - Biodiesel is a form of diesel fuel manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant greases. It is safe, biodegradable, and produces less air pollutants than petroleum-based diesel. Biodiesel is meant to be used in standard diesel engines and is thus distinct from the vegetable and waste oils used to fuel converted diesel engines. Biodiesel can be used alone, or blended with petrodiesel. Biodiesel can also be used as a low carbon alternative to heating oil.

E85 Flexible Fuel

 Written by J. D. Johnston
E85-flex-fuelE85 Flexible Fuel - There is no denying all of us are being held hostage by adversarial oil producing nations, as oil companies report record profits. America will soon be bogged down by a fuel crisis of epic proportions. At some point, probably sooner than we want to believe, our planet's reserves of fossil fuels, once thought to be endless will be exhausted, and America will be left with fewer, much more costly supplies of fuel to power our vehicles.

Smart Power Grid - EV Infrastructure

 Written by J. D. Johnston

smart-ev-gridWhat is the "Smart Grid? In simple terms, it's an upgrade to the power grid already existing enabling it to route power more efficiently and conservatively. It is a means of seeing exactly where power is used and when, and is a means of allowing even the homeowner to see where power is consumed, and to become more energy efficient.

Inexpensive Gasoline

 Written by G. McNullty

Gas-PricesUSA driving public blessed with inexpensive fuel...Inexpensive gasoline has been the norm for Americans for decades. With cheap gasoline came the ability to produce bigger, bolder, faster vehicles with no concern about the mpg ratings. It is an unfortunate fact that we are dependent on fossil fuels for our autos, and that dependence is not going away anytime soon. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the hopes that we can turn things around.
