Electric Smart Cars – When a small EV will do! The first set of all electric smart cars began production in 2010. They are powered by lithium batteries. Commercial sales are expected to begin in 2012. The Smart EV electric vehicle runs solely on its electric motor, with an output of 41hp. Daimler claims EV models acceleration performance is equivalent to that of the gas model.

When gas prices are high, a car that throws out practically everything except its ability to get where it's going for cheap seems like a great idea. Nissan Leaf ALL-ELECTRIC
The Leaf a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has received a lot of attention. Although hybrid electric cars offer lower impact on the environment, savings in fuel cost, are friendlier to our environment than a ICE vehicle the Leaf still relies on a small gas engine. The Smart Car Fortwo ED All-Electric BEV...As the totally electric Smart Fortwo ED proceeded to the starting line and got the green flag it appears Daimler has waved the black flag at the Penske Group and smart USA sending them to the garage. Smart USA, a division of the Penske Automotive Group were the sole distributor of eco-friendly Smart ForTwo and the Smart EV Electric Vehicle.
